[MPlayer-users] cvidix and nvidia

Hi there!

I have my Linux (debian) box running with Riva TNT graphics card.

I've instaled drivers drivers from www.nvidia.com in order to have Xv
video output support.

I'd love to check text console video playing, however after my attempt
in text console with:

mplayer movie.avi -vc divxds -vo cvidix -vf format=uyvy

i got:

vo_cvidix: No vidix driver name provided, probing available ones!
vosub_vidix: Couldn't find working VIDIX driver
Error opening/initializing the selected video_out (-vo) device.

however when i typed:

mplayer -vo help

i got:
	xv	X11/Xv
	x11	X11 ( XImage/Shm )
	...
	xvidix	X11 (VIDIX)
	cvidix	VIDIX
	...
	tga	Targa output

so there is cvidix available .... what's wrong ?

My second question is about nvidia official drivers:

After i switched to nvidia drivers i've noticed little slow down when im
moving with windows over my desktop, but i've noticed significant
slowdown when im scrolling text in Multi-Gnome-Terminal or Vim.

Did anybody has such an experience with official nvidia drivers ?
I'd really like to have my MGT as i did before with old open source X11
drivers.

thanks

Jan
