huh, if this is still the driver i provided a looooong time ago, then
there should not be much to do, it should just work.
You just have to make sure, that you have a line like 
  Option        "OverlayMem" "829440"
in your "Device" Section of XF86Config.
But this will only help, if you already have xv detected.

do you have 
  Load         "extmod"
in your "Module" Section of XF86Config?
You should get a line like 
(II) Loading extension XVideo
in /var/log/XFree86.0.log, if not i suggest upgrading X. Or just
use a SuSE which is newer than 8.1, there it works out of the box ;-)
