MEncoder can already use any codec from ffmpeg, but the only working
muxer is avi, so you're stuck with mpeg1-in-avi or mpeg2-in-avi. You
can, however, use other tools to extract the mpeg1/2 video stream from
the avi file and make a real mpeg file.
