Sure. This was a bug for several months. Mencoder would crash right at
the very end of the file, or, when using b-frames, overwrite the first
part of divx2pass.log with zeroes resulting in the second pass failing.

I eventually asked Michael Niedermayer if he would fix it, and he did,
at least in the case of encoding with b-frames. Since I almost always
encode with b-frames, I wasn't interested in rigorously testing without
them so I'm not sure how well that works.
