[MPlayer-users] (Bug?) scale and cropdetect

Hello,

I just wonder whether anyone has the same problem
in first scaling and then cropping a movie.
Whenever I provide -vf scale=640:480,cropdetect
the cropdetect does nothing while cropdetect alone 
works as expected. I know that one should probably 
crop first and scale afterwards, but I don't know why
it is "forbidden" to do it the other way round (or at least
why the docu does not mention it).
