[MPlayer-users] DPMS is disabled when using TV out (NVidia)

Hi!

I have a NVidia GeForce256 DDR gfx card with tv out. There's a tool
called nvtv which can be used to en-/disable the tv output.
When I enable the tv output, my monitor usually goes into power saving
mode, which is good. However, when I start mplayer and play a movie,
the monitor wakes up and displays a black screen with full power
consumption.
It seems that mplayer disables the DPMS function on startup. Can this
behavior turned off by any means?
