[MPlayer-users] Overlay-Video with -wid?

Hello

I' trying to get a video played in a non-toplevel-widget of another
application. I have the XWindow-ID of that widget, but mplayer seems
to play only in antoher window, when it is a toplevel-window, not a
widget inside another window. Is it possible to do this with mplayer?
I tried to use -vo xover, also. But it seems, that I'm too stupid to
use this feature... 

Example:

mplayer -wid 0x50000ee movie.avi

says:

X11 error: BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)
[...]

mplayer -wid 0x50000ee -xover:xv movie.avi

says:

VO XOverlay: xv doesn't support XOverlay
Error opening/initializing the selected video_out (-vo) device.


This happens with all driver, I tried to give xover as subdriver. 

Any help?
