[MPlayer-users] vrc_eq=1 doesn't seem to have any effect

Hi!

I'm trying to encode to mpeg1 with constant bitrate. The relevant lavcopts 
are as follows:
-lavcopts 
vcodec=mpeg1video:mbd=2:vrc_eq=1:vbitrate=$BITRATE:vmax_b_frames=2:

The resulting video looks great and everything (although I get a lot of 
error messages of the type 'Error in stream: PTS to SCR delay 8737 is too 
little'), but it doesn't  use constant bitrate. The bitrate actually 
varies a great deal. Setting vrc_maxrate and/or vrc_minrate doesn't make 
any difference either.

Does anybody know what's going on? And did anybody ever generate a 
constant bitrate mpeg1 video stream?
