Well, that's a bug in your version of MPlayer.  You can either try a
newer/old packaged version, or you could download the sources and
compile yourself.  I happen to be using MPlayer 1.0pre3, BTW.

You might also try playing the file with "-noidx" instead of
"-forceidx".
