MPlayer does not use a binary decoder for Duck Truemotion, but an open
source decoder included in libavcodec (part of ffmpeg).
Are you sure the game use a decoder installed in windows multimedia
system and not a provare copy inculded in the game exe?
You can try (no guarantee, i don't even know if it support all codecs
from ffmpeg) to install ffdshow of ffvfw, if the codec is included and
the game uses standard windows decoder, maybe you can get it work.

Also you mention win3.11; be sure that the game uses a 32bit decoder, i
don't know if w2k can handle 16bit vfw codecs.

Good luck.

Roberto

Thx for your answer Roberto!

I have ffdshow installed...from the codec pack that came with gordian knot .
Maybe it didn´t install everything ?

So you think I got no chance to get the thing running under win2k ? I tried also compatibility settings for win95, win98 and winnt4 for the exe but no way either, I tried the tool "DOSBox" and this one doesn´t start the thing because it say it is an 16bit windows app.

I think you may be right it has something to do with 16bit vfw. The installer for VFW is on the CD but I don´t want to install a 16bit Application under Win2k, I fear it would ruin my system, don´t know if it would install anyway.

I found a picture showing an installed Truemotion codec, but I think this is a shot from win98

You think there is still a way to install that codec under win2k (if I ever find it)

Someone any more ideas ?
