You need to have the following
1. mplayer in your path the command "which mplayer" should tell you if it is
2. Do you have any special video hardware? If you need to do something like
mplayer -vo xvidix -ao esd
you probably need an mplayerplug-in.conf file. See the website for more info
3. what happens when you run mplayer mms://url_here from the command line?
Does it work or give you an error about a missing codec?
4. What browser are you using?
