[MPlayer-users] video skips 20 seconds forward at random

Hi,

i've got this weird problem:

at random times while watching a movie (only divx/xvid tested atm.),
the movie will skip (fast forward) 20 seconds (i know it's 20 seconds
because when i press left twice, i get back where the skipping
started)

this will happen +-5-7 times each movie at random points during the movie

i've tried every working -vo (xv, x11, sdl:xv, sdl:x11, gl, gl2) and
tried with alsa, oss and sdl for -ao

i've tried mplayer-pre4-r7 and mplayer-pre5-r2

i'm running on gentoo with USE="oggvorbis dvd dvdread mplayer alsa
-arts -kde -gnome X -gtk -qt network sse mmx sdl rtc -divx4linux lirc
mad matroska samba -xmms xv xvid"

the machine is a celeron 1700, with 256 ram, geforce 4mx440 (running
nvidia-kernel on tvout/twinview), hd witch outputs 28.39 MB/sec
no more than 50mb ram is in use while watching a movie, and +-20/30%
cpu use (running X, without windowmanager)

tried with and without rtc, and with and without various options in mplayer.conf

standard mplayer output does not give any errors (haven't tried -v so far)

any thoughts on this are very much welcomed, as i'm getting pretty
anxious to get this fixed :)
