mencoder dvd://1 -chapter 5-5 -vf scale,harddup -zoom...

Not sure if that even works though, you might want to skip 3 pass and
only do 2 pass, it's better for audio sync.
Also, a line like
mencoder dvd://1 -chapter 5-5 -vf scale=512:-2,harddup\
 -o /home/salahuddin/movie.avi -oac copy -ovc xvid -xvidencopts vhq=4:bitrate=1500

might be what you want, but if -zoom and -xy works in mencoder, all's good...
