latest (todays) MPlayer CVS and last months Live.com libraries.
mplayer -rtsp-stream-over-tcp rtsp://143.106.35.156/sample_100kbit.mp4

this seemed to work but there were glitches when it ran out of cached
data and had to wait on web fetch to catch up.

I am behind a router and software firewall.
