[MPlayer-users] Bad sound output

Hi. I've got a problem with mplayer. When playing mpg videos, the 
quality of the sound is poor. I can hear something like rewinding/fast 
forwarding a tape in the background. I knon this issue may be coused by 
low bitrate of audio, but xine plays the same movies with much better 
sound. Any suggestions how to solve this problem? I am using MPlayer 1.0pre5
