[MPlayer-users] Nico's mpeg patches good for mpeg1?

Hi list,
I wanted to know if those new Nico's patches are good for producing
mpeg1 files in addition to mpeg2; I ask because another good use of dvds
is the storage of great amount of video time in mpeg1, which is totally
permitted by the standard. But still, the video needs to be passed to
dvdauthor, so there's always the need for the patch, I think.
