Hello.
Has anyone experienced a problem with Akamai RealMedia URIs for subscription
services?
Thank you.
-James
Here is an example stream with the problem stated as not having a hostname:
Note: I was advised to replace authentication information with X's to avoid
an abuse issue with the content providers but would be happy to discuss
details with someone specifically interested in this problem.
The URI looks like:
"rtsp://a1974.v50221.c5022.g.vr.akamaistream.net/ondemand/7/1974/5022/v04021108/XXXXX.download.akamai.com/5022/_!/shows/2004/02/10/XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.RM/XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX/a?"
Because they are using an exclamation point (!) it appears one has to escape the
URI to avoid a parse error. Perhaps this is one problem that I have created?
The streams do work with a native RealPlayer.
Attempting to play the stream yields this result:
> mplayer "rtsp://a1974.v50221.c5022.g.vr.akamaistream.net/ondemand/7/1974/5022/v04021108/XXXXX.download.akamai.com/5022/_\!/shows/2004/02/10/XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.RM/XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX/a?"
