[MPlayer-users] RFE: support {y:i} microdvd subtitles tag

I have seen many subtitle files (microdvd-format)
using "{y:i}" tag for italics/bold(?) subtitles.
Could mplayer support it? Or at least have some
option to ignore it, so "{y:i}..." would not been
displayed in text directly?
