AFAIK QuickTime player is not on a "vanilla" doze box. MPEG1 really is
the best thing they both support. If you want higher quality use
higher bitrate. MPEG1 with proper VBR will look much better than the
horrible CBR MPEG1 used on VCDs anyway...
