hmmm, don't know about rpms, sorry... but mplayer doesn't really need
libxvidcore for anything unless you want to encode with it. Maybe you
can force install ? On my system, libxvidcore.so.4 is just a link to
libxvidcore.so.4.0 . Maybe you're just missing a symlink ?
