Back to trees. Mplayer is being held by ALSA enabled esd. When I disable/kill esd, mplayer
-ao alsa9 plays nicely.

To use esd, one could use mplayer -ao esd. Does anyone use this? I getting corrupted (well,
radio quality sound) and movies stutters every 2s or so.

Does anyone use -ao esd? Gnome? Debian/unstable?

Thanks for any answer.
