[MPlayer-users] started from cron, mplayer doesn't work

hello,

starting an .mpg-file from the command line, everything works fine.
now I want to start a playlist of 3 mpg's every hour as a cron task, but 
all I get is a error message in the users mail:

vo: couldn't open the X11 display ()!
..
(several times)
..
TERM environment variable needs set.


what does that mean?
google tells me nothing helpful.
