Hi.
I have a strange problem with mplayer since i've reinstalled my whole
debian to unstable.
It always crashes my xserver everytime I try to play any video using xv
output. The server goes down without any clear reason, there is nothing
unusual in logs.
Before reinstalation I was able to watch videos using xv output without
any problem, now I can't.
I tried recompiling mplayer using different gcc versions, but it didn't
help.
I figured out that this must be a problem with xserver. I must use
XFree86 version 4.3* becouse I have a i740 graphic card, and any
previous version of the server wouldn't work with full xv support. I
tried to install different card drivers but it didn't change anything. I
run out of ideas.
I have a Debian unstable system with 2.4.21 kernel, i740 graphic chip on
my video adapter. I also use gcc-3.3.3.
I know that this is propably a problem with the xserver, and I wouldn't
have posted this message if I didn't knew that everything worked fine on
almost identical configuration.
So if anyone can tell what to do, I would be thankful.
Thanks, and sorry for my poor english.
Michael
