[MPlayer-users] mga_vid driver doesn't compile with 2.6.x kernel - modversions.h missing

hello,

building a dedicated mplayer box from scratch i choose fedora core wich is
kernel 2.6.x ready.
as a graphic card i use matrox g400 and i want to use it with mga_vid.

kernel sources are installed, but when entering
/usr/local/src/MPlayer(version)/drivers/ and do a make, i get an
error-message, that /usr/src/linux/include/modversions.h was not existing.
indeed, the file is not there.
after some googling it seems that the 2.6 series of the kernel don't built
that file any more.

does anybody have a fix for this or an idea?
