hi everybody!

I'm running knoppix (a debian-based distro) with kernel 2.4.22-xfs an my Athlon-linux-box. My bt878-based tv-card works fine with XAWTV.
The configure-script from mplayer (I tried versions 0.92 and 1.0pre3) doesn't detect my bt878-based tv-card as tv-v4l device. It is detected as tv-v4l2-device, but that doesn't work.

When I change the config.h file to force compilation of v4l-support instead of v4l2-suport, compilation finishes successfull and watching tv with mplayer works fine.

When I try to record from the tv-card using mencoder, the encoding works much too fast:

"Pos: 10,0s 153f ( 0%) 24fps Trem: 0min 0mb A-V:0,000 [683:63]]"

       ^^^^^
The seconds behind "Pos:" increase about 30% faster than realtime. When I play the recored Movies with mlayer, they run much too slow.

Any Ideas how to fix the problems?

regards,

Rainer
