Also, if someone is concerned about this, then this is one more reason
to pick vorbis instead of mp3.

In adition to everything said by others... there is a "financial"
reason, too. As far as I know, the people at allofmp3.com have to pay
a fee for every mp3 they sell. (thanks to using a compression method
under patents)

This means that part of what you pay for those files is going to go to
thomson multimedia. So... less money for the authors. Usage of vorbis
is completely free both for comercial and non-comercial uses.
