I've got a GF2MX and it works well with cvidix (video in text mode) but I'm 
not sure how you'd get this to work with TV-out.  The only way that springs 
to mind is turning the computer on with only the TV-out plug connected (i.e. 
no monitor plugged in), and I *think* that will get the card to enable TV-out 
from startup.  The bonus with this is that you get the console, BIOS, etc. on 
the TV.

If you want to enable the TV-out on the fly, change TV modes etc. I'm not sure 
how you could do this, but you could look into nvtv, I think it might work 
without X11.
