I recently got the TRV250 (which is digital8 and does have firewire)
But I also looked into making the USB work. As far as I could determine, the
protocol used by Sony on the USB port is proprietary and there aren't any
linux drivers for it (at this time)
Sorry. The only way to get video from the camera into the computer is probably
to get a TV card and hook it up that way using the a/v out cable.
