Hi,List,
I am new to Linux and mplayer - to both.
I downloaded and installed following packages. So far so good.
mplayer-common-1.0pre3-1.i386.rpm
mplayer-gui-1.0pre3-1.i386.rpm
mplayer-skin-default-1.0-2.noarch.rpm
I tried to run a VCD.Like in my VCD player under windows,it didn't
recognise the vcd and started playing.I tried file opening route. This VCD
has a MPEG directory where files with extensions .dat are present which
were not listed by mplayer.By selecting 'show all file types',I listed
those x.dat(1/2/3) files which I instructed to open.mplayer window flashes
and nothing else happens.Where could be the fault?
By the by,why should I find files with .dat extension under mpeg folder? If
they are mpeg formats why MPEG supporting players including Windows media
player do not list them though can run them?
Could anybody here clear my doubts please?
Best regards,
