[MPlayer-users] Installing mplayer 0.92 on Debian (testing)

I tried to install mplayer on Debian testing (quite tiny installation) using
installation instructions:
http://www.princessleia.com/MPlayer.html

First I got an error that cc1plus doesn't exist. I made a symbolic link 
ln -s /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-linux/3.2.3/cc1plus /usr/bin/cc1plus

When trying to compile I got this error:

cc1plus: unrecognized option `-auxbase-strip'
cc1plus: output filename specified twice
make[2]: *** [demux_rtp.o] Error 1
make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/mplayer/MPlayer-0.92/libmpdemux'
make[1]: *** [libmpdemux/libmpdemux.a] Error 2

What should I do to solve this?
