[MPlayer-users] Invalid CTL /dev/mixer0%

Hello

I've recently encountered this error message when playing a video with
mplayer (it repeats endless times):

> ALSA lib control.c:654:(snd_ctl_open_noupdate) Invalid CTL /dev/mixer0%
> alsa-control: mixer attach /dev/mixer error:
> Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden

mplayer has worked without any problems before. I did some changes to the
system, to make my sound blaster card be the system wide default choice
(/usr/share/alsa/alsa.conf defaults.pcm, defaults.ctl etc), but undoing them
didn't resolve the problem.

This is a strace about what dev files were accessed:

Im using mplayer-1.0-35_pre5.rhfc2.at

Any help is appreciated. Btw, XMMS works fine using the alsa plugin.
