 From the online manual:

7.7. Encoding from multiple input image files (JPEG, PNG, TGA, SGI)

mencoder mf://*.jpg -mf type=jpg:w=800:h=600:fps=25\
-ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4 -oac copy -o /output.avi/

... but how can I setup the "quality" of the output file /output.avi.
