Thanks, that's fine.  The registers in this output look quite normal so it
doesn't reveal much about the previous strangeness.

When it crashes next time, the output of the gdb command

shell cat /proc/NNNNN/maps

where NNNNN is the pid of mencoder might be useful in addition to the other
stuff.

What command line are you using?

Also, what do you mean by "same file"?  I thought you were encoding from tv.
