[MPlayer-users] failed starting mplayer 1.0pre4 on Solaris 9

When we tried to run mplayer 1.0pre4 on Solaris 9.  The application was invoked
by user as
   mplayer <path to mpg file>
It opens briefly, then dies with a core dump and the appended output.
It appears to open and recognize various aspects of the mpeg file.
The failure is possibly related to these two messages:

   X11 error: BadAccess (attempt to access private resource denied)
   [...]
   X11 error: BadShmSeg (invalid shared segment parameter)

Does anyone have similiar experience on Solaris platform? The output is
attached below.

MPlayer interrupted by signal 6 in module: decode_video
- MPlayer crashed. This shouldn't happen.
  It can be a bug in the MPlayer code _or_ in your drivers _or_ in your
  gcc version. If you think it's MPlayer's fault, please read
  DOCS/HTML/en/bugreports.html and follow the instructions there. We can't and
  won't help unless you provide this information when reporting a possible bug.
