[MPlayer-users] default install

after looking at the klik.berlios site, i have found a script to wget mplayer 
and codec files then install them to a running knoppix disk.
although i ran in to lack of ram space and the install didnt work.

when i had installed mplayer on my debian machine a few months ago, i 
obviously missed some important install options as i couldnt play real 
streams and dvd menus were not available.

does anyone have a default install script to install mplayer with all (or 
atleast most) codecs, and dvd functionality?

is there anything close?

some of the install commands i have seen run in to 3 lines and confuse even 
the hardest command guru.

what install command options do you use?
