[MPlayer-users] Mencoder OSX - FPS and other info missing in terminal display

When I encode using Mencoder OSX, the output is missing the estimate 
information.  For example:

Pos: 686.3s  16473f (13%)   0fps Trem:   0min 534mb  A-V:-0.002 
[801:104]
1 duplicate frame(s)!
Pos: 686.5s  16477f (13%)   0fps Trem:   0min 534mb  A-V:-0.002 
[801:104]
1 duplicate frame(s)!
Pos: 686.6s  16481f (13%)   0fps Trem:   0min 534mb  A-V:-0.002 
[801:104]


The current fps is always listed as 0, the time to complete is always 
listed as 0.  But the file size estimate is there as well as the other 
information.  Any idea why?


FYI, command from Mencoder to Terminal comes out like this:

"/Applications/MencoderOSX.app//Contents/Resources"/mencoder dvd:// -o 
~/Desktop/His_Girl_Friday.avi  -alang en -vf-add crop=716:480:4:0
