[MPlayer-users] Framerate - VHS

i've got a series of 4 VHS tapes with some cartoons i would like to capture. 
they are all new, of good quality and capture goes well except for one of 
them. when watched, this tape seems completely normal and does not differ 
from the other three. 

but when i try to capture it, the framerate drops to 16 - 18 fps and the final 
quality is very bad: the codec kind of sticks to one frame and shows it 
continuously for a few minutes. i mean, a certain frame blinks continuously 
for a long time, even if the picture shows already something different. 

any hints?
