[MPlayer-users] mplayer's handling of playlists

Hi,
I'm a little suprised that mplayer doesn't recognize playlists like M3U
or PLS. It handles them when using -playlist though. However, couldn't
mplayer multiplex them like another filetype? IIRC, mplayer did this in
the past and someone confirmed that. I think there was a problem that
it used playlist as fallback and sometimes crawled through megabytes
of binary data, everytime it couldn't recognize a file. If that was the
reason to remove the feature, you should consider limiting the look ahead
to about 1 KB or so.
