as a temporary workaround try this:

edit mplayer.c and at the line just above
    mp_msg(MSGT_AVSYNC,MSGL_WARN,MSGTR_SystemTooSlow);
add
    demux_seek(demuxer,0.1,0);

I'm trying it myself on a TV station that always gives my the same problem;
