Because there are many samples, even for things that are currently not
working there. Also they are not on the hompage as far as I can tell,
just on the project server to be exact...
Also http://www1.mplayerhq.hu/homepage/design7/codecs.html even says
so: "To get more codec packages, including older versions and
unsupported/broken ones, and for details about the content of every
package with MD5 sums of each codec, check the codecs directory."
In the codecs package list above only the 6.3 version is listed.
