[MPlayer-users] MPlayer crashes when I try to play some WM or MOVfiles

The problem seems related to locale.

Currently my Debian system is using:

LANG=tr_TR

and when I switch to English:

LANG=en

and play the same file using same options of MPlayer
I can watch it without any problems.

I don't know if this tip is useful for any of the developers
or users but I just wanted to share.

Thanks goes to my friend sundance from http://fazlamesai.net
who provided a solution.

PS: He found that solution while he was playing with
xine, xine complained something about locale so he had
the clue to try changing the locale and try that way.

Subject: [MPlayer-users] MPlayer crashes when I try to play some WM or MOVfiles

I was using the 0.9 version for the last 2 years
without any problem and decided the time has come
to switch to the lates version. I recently received
10 CD including roughly 30 video files and unfortunately
I cannot watch them using my Debian system and mplayer :(

Yesterday I've downloaded the source code of CVS version,
downloaded all the codecs and extracted them /usr/local/lib/codecs
and then compiled MPlayer:

./configure --enable-debug=3
make
make install

It works fine for DVDs, DivX, etc. however
it crashes when I try to play some WM or MOV files.

One of the developers (rxt) on #mplayer told me to delete codecs.conf,
enable debug and report this as a bug, so here's the detailed info about my system:
