When you hint a video/audio file it creates a "hint track" for ever 
track that is streamable on the media file
and in turn the streaming server(ie DarwinStreamingServer) can turn 
that in to real-time streams.
This is nice for people with slower connections and you won't have to 
wait for ever for the video to download, you are
able to watch it almost instantly.

The reason a media file becomes so much larger than the original is 
because the "hints" are information for the
streaming server so it can turn the media file in to a real-time stream 
as quickly as posable.
