Hi,

dmesg entries generated on module load:

Matrox MGA G200/G400/G450/G550 YUV Video interface v2.01 (c) Aaron Holtzman &
A'rpi
mga_vid: Found MGA G400/G450 at 0000:01:05.0 [0000:01:05.0]
mga_vid: MMIO at 0xfb032000 IRQ: 5 framebuffer: 0xD0000000
mga_vid: OPTION word: 0x4053C120 mem: 0x10 SGRAM
mga_vid: detected RAMSIZE is 32 MB
syncfb (mga): IRQ disabled in mga_vid.c
mga_vid: 1 supported cards found
mga_vid: using major: 178 (assigned or default!)

Aha! That made me look more closely at the dmesg than I did last night (too
late, not enough beer ;-)... I've only got 16MB video RAM. Having had a look
at my old modules.conf from 2.4, I added a line to modprobe.conf to override
the RAM size detection with mga_ram_size=16 then reloaded the module. That
worked.

So the initial problem with it was a brainfart on my part, but that now raises
the question of why it detects the RAM size incorrectly...

Regards,
Stephen
