I opened the bin file with nano and read it and added the two lines in 
the aviheader.c in the place it was looking for.

This did not fix the problem tho.  I recompiked and the artifacts are 
still there when i mencode the file and than watch it.  So during all 
this on my windows computer i've been redoing the avi file and now i 
have it at 1.8 gigs and mplayer plays it fine and it looks ok.  Just 
wish i could have fixed this.
