thanks  , I'll read that, it seems very useful.
but anyway, that  weird behavior in the code is really mind-boggling,
I just tried pre5, same

I disabled all the -O flags, and now it manages to enter config() twice,
what is really amazing is, the esp change across the func call in these
two ( same ) calls are different, first  time esp is decremented 0x24,
second time esp is decremented 0x60,
