Doesn't matter if it's stdin or not, error is elsewhere. mplayer outputs
the movie to the screen, not to stdout. MEncoder can do the rotation
itself, exactly as MPlayer can, by specifying -vf rotate=1. Not many
options connected with processing of audio and/or video are valid in
mplayer and not in mencoder.
But then, -ovc copy is good only if you don't do anything with the
movie. Sorry, there is no way I know to rotate it without reencoding the
stream. But -oac copy is perfeclty fine, as I understand your problem,
you're not messing with audio.
