Hi,
I'm not a usual user of mplayer, but I used to use mencoder some time ago
when I was trying to convert my VHS library to VCDs (I resigned from this
because -at least in Italy- the cost of a CD-R is quite high).
Now I'm having some trouble trying to record something from my tv card (I
want to use mencoder with cron to replace the timered vcr): mplayer is able
to show the tvcard output, but doesn't seem to be able to record it. If I
try one of these commands:
mencoder -tv
driver=v4l2:normid=0:adevice=hw.1,0:width=720:height=576:device=/dev/video0:input=0
tv://25 -ovc xvid
mencoder -v -tv
driver=v4l2:width=720:height=576:input=0:adevice=/dev/dsp1:audioid=1:amode=1:forcechan=2
tv:// -ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4:vbitrate=1800:keyint=250 -oac
mp3lame -lameopts cbr:mode=0:br=128 -o mencoder-v4l2-test.av
mencoder -v -tv
driver=v4l:width=720:height=576:input=0:adevice=/dev/dsp1:audioid=1 tv://
-ovc lavc -lavcopts vcodec=mpeg4:vbitrate=1800:keyint=250 -oac mp3lame
-lameopts cbr:mode=0:br=128 -o mencoder-v4l2-test.avi
I always have this error:
Current input: 0
Current format: YUYV
v4l2: current audio mode is : MONO

Someone has info about this, a workaround or something to change to make
this working right?
TIA,
