What does mplayer say about it?  Is it exiting with an error?  You
really need to post the verbose output at the very least.

Are you sure title 1 is the movie?  Have you tried the other titles? 
Sometimes title 1 is just the FBI warning or company logo.  Also try
starting with different chapters.
