[MPlayer-users] subfont.ttf Error

When I run mencoder, I get the following error:

New_Face failed. Maybe the font path is wrong.  0mb 
A-V:0.000 [0:0]
Please supply the text font file
(~/.mplayer/subfont.ttf).
subtitle font: load_sub_face failed.

I went to the font download area, went to unsupported
fonts and tried to download subfont-gimp-0.5.tar.bz2,
but it won't open correctly in WinZip. It's just
blank. I tried a bunch of different mirrors, but I get
the same result.

Any suggestions? Thanks.
