Attached is a very small sample video taken from a DVD, which shows
quite an annoying bug in recent CVS snapshots of MPlayer.
The first bug appears to be in a combination of pullup/ivtc and mpeg2.
Encode to mpeg2video with pullup/ivtc in your vf-opts, and it will
produce a file that makes mplayer crash. This problem doesn't happen
if you use detc or filmdint (instead of ivtc/pullup) with mencoder. It
doesn't happen if you use a different codec--seems to be only mpeg1/2.
It doesn't happen with mencoder 1.0pre5 at all.
The second part of the bug, is that this corrupt file, produced by
mencoder, will crash mplayer. I've tried back to 1.0pre3, and it does a
very good job of crashing mplayer (by signal 11 in module:
video_read_properties).
